Pacific Hosts National Girls And Women In Sports Day Feb 3

STOCKTON, Calif. - Once again, Pacific athletics will celebrate National Girls And Women's In Sports Day, inviting girls ages 5-14 from the Stockton Community to a multi-sport clinic beginning at 12:00 pm and concluding with attendance to the women's basketball game against Pepperdine, which is slated for a 2 pm start.

The Tigers' student-athletes and coaches from Pacific's basketball, volleyball, softball, and soccer teams, as well as other women's sports teams will run the clinic, which is made possible in part by Dr. Amy L. Scriven, D.D.S. Following the clinic, the participants will be the guests of the women's basketball team for the 2 p.m. tip-off against Pepperdine in the Alex G. Spanos Center.

National Girls & Women in Sports Day has empowered women and girls to embrace physical activity and build their courage, confidence, and character through participation in sports for over 30 years.

The Pacific Athletics department has teamed up to support The Sports Bra Project. We are kindly asking participants to donate a new sports bra or $5 cash to support the cause. The Sports Bra Project utilizes networks of female coaches and athletes to collect and distribute sports bras. The Sports Bra Project is striving to eliminate one barrier to increase the likelihood of sports participation for all girls and women.

Registration for National Girls And Women's In Sports Day is now open, and will be limited to 200 participants.
