Todd Smith Resigns to Take Strength and Conditioning Position With Marquette

Stockton, Calif. - University of the Pacific Director of Athletics Lynn King announced today that Director of Athletic Performance Todd Smith has resigned to take the position of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Marquette University. He will begin his new position on July 1st.

"We will miss Todd," said King. "He has made significant contributions to our programs and our student-athletes. We are very sorry to see him go, but we wish he and Maggie the very best."

"Pacific is a very special place," said Smith. "It is because of the success of our student-athletes that I have this opportunity to get back closer to family."

Smith was the Director of Athletic Performance for six years, heading up the strength and conditioning program. Smith served two years as assistant director of athletic performance at Pacific before taking over as director.

Smith is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is certified as a USWF Level I Club Coach through the United States Weightlifting Federation (USWF). He is also a Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the College Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.

He previously served as a graduate assistant strength coach at the University of North Dakota and has assisted the San Francisco 49ers and Nashville Predators during their training camps.
