SACRAMENTO, Calif., August 20, 2008 - The Sacramento Kings today announced tickets to the team's first preseason game in Stockton since 1988 are on sale now.
"The Kings have always benefited from a very strong following among fans in the Stockton area," said John Thomas, president of Maloof Sports & Entertainment. "Our successful, long-term relationship with the University of the Pacific enables us to bring an exciting NBA preseason game featuring the Kings to this wonderful community as part of our ever-expanding fan outreach throughout the central valley of California. We also welcome a unique partnership with IFG, the Stockton Thunder and the Stockton Lightning, who will participate in the sales and marketing of this game."
Fans may purchase tickets on Kings.com or by calling Ticketmaster Charge-By-Phone at (916) 649-TIXS, (530) 528-TIXS or (209) 551-TIXS. Tickets are also available at the ARCO Arena Box Office, open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and at all Sacramento and Stockton-area Ticketmaster locations.
"University of the Pacific is excited to host the Sacramento Kings in this preseason game," said Lynn King, director of athletics for University of the Pacific. "This is a tremendous event for Stockton and we hope the first in a long-term relationship."
Tickets for the game are priced at $10, $25, $55, $75, $100 and $125.
"Having the Sacramento Kings play in Stockton is one of the biggest highlights of our community over the past few years," said Don Miller, director of the Stockton Sports Commission. "Our list of great sporting events in Stockton keeps growing and the Kings game is at the top of the list."
The Kings, featuring a young core which includes Kevin Martin, Beno Udrih, Francisco Garcia, Spencer Hawes, Jason Thompson and Dontè Greene, will face the new-look Clippers with recent additions Baron Davis, Marcus Camby and former Kings guard Jason Williams. The game will take place Wednesday, October 15, at 7 p.m. at University of the Pacific's Alex G. Spanos Center.
