Stanford, Calif. - Swimming on the road at Stanford, the Tiger men's swimming team suffered a 145-101 loss to the Cardinal on Saturday, Jan. 11 in their first dual meet of the new year. The meet was the first for the men after finishing the Arena Invite on Nov. 25.
For Pacific, the opening meet of the second half of the season was a chacne to get back in the pool in preparation for the fast approaching MPSF Championships in February. Tapering towards the championships, the Tigers picked up strong efforts from top to bottom out of their lineup. The best showing for the Tigers came early in the meet from freshman Kale Ai who finished second in the 1000 Free with a time of 9:52.34. Two events later, senior Oliver Simkovic finished second in the 100 Back after touching the wall at 52.69. Senior Dai Wilson's 50.06 time in the 100 Fly was just off the top time as he was outtouched by just under one second.
Pacific is back in the pool at home on Saturday, Jan. 18 when the women take on UC Davis. The two teams meet at 10:00 am at Kjeldsen Pool.
