Walker Breaks Program Record at MPSF Championships

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Pacific's Semaj Walker broke the program record in the women's 100 Breastroke for the second time in as many weeks to lead the Tigers on day three of the MPSF Championships at East Los Angeles College.

Walker, who set a new program record with a time of 1:01.11 at the Ohio State Winter Invitational last weekend, topped that finish by two-hundredths of a second (1:01.09) en route to a first place finish in the event. Yahav Shahaf snagged a second place finish in the men's 100 Breast with a time of 53.19.

Kenna Ramey earned another first place finish in the 100 Fly. The Washington product recorded a career-best mark of 52.00. Becca Aguilar topped the Consolation final and finished ninth overall (54.81).

In the men's 100 Fly, Mason Miller matched his season-best time (46.58) and finished third after being edged out by Hawaii's Mateusz Chaba (46.46) and UC Santa Barbara's Yoessef Tibazi (46.49).

Niles Biolley had a second place finish in the 400 IM (3:53.72) and scored in the 100 Back with a seventh place finish (49.19).  

Brigid McNally and Angela Gagliardo went 5-6 in the 400 IM Championship final, while Taylor Hosmer finished sixth (1:49.16) and Miles MacKenzie finished third (1:35.99) in the 200 Free.

Isabella Green was the Tigers top finisher in the 100 Back, finishing first in the bonus final with a mark of 57.51. On the men's side, Angel Alcala was fifth (48.84). 

Both squads concluded Friday competition with the 400 Medley Relay. Alcala, Shahaf, Miller, and Dylan Toy combined for a second place finish with a time of 3:12.15. The women's foursome, which included Cal Hong Singh, Walker, Ramey, and Hosmer were third after clocking a time of 3:40.59.

Heading into the final day of competition, the Tigers' women's squad is third with 340 points. The men are currently fourth with 400.5 points. 

Saturday's events will include the 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, 400 Free Relay, and the 1650 Free. Prelims are set to begin at 10:00 am.
