The Pacific Men’s Basketball schedule in 2011-12 will feature 17 home games, including contests against long time rival Fresno State, former Big West foe Utah State and future Big West Conference member Hawai’i. The schedule is tentative and is subject to change due to potential television matchups.
Pacific’s home opener is an exhibition game against Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers open the regular season on Nov. 13 with a home game against Cal State Monterey Bay. For the seventh straight year, Pacific will take part in ESPN BracketBusters on February 18 in a home game.
The Tigers' road schedule will include games at Nevada (Nov. 17), Hawai’i (Nov. 25) and Stanford (Nov. 28). Opening the Big West Conference schedule on the road, Pacific takes on Cal State Fullerton on Jan. 2.
“It’s exciting to have so many home games this season, especially with Utah State returning and Fresno State coming to the Spanos Center,” said 24th year Head Coach Bob Thomason. “This will be a tough schedule both home and away, especially with a new group of players, but we are looking forward to the challenge.”
Prior to the official practice season, the Tigers will host the annual Tigers In Tennies event for area youngsters on October 12 at 5:30 p.m., followed by the traditional Midnight Mania event to tipoff the practice season on October 14 at 10:00 p.m. Both events will be held in the Alex G. Spanos Center.
