Eugene, Ore. - Led by their upperclassmen, the Pacific golf team took home a fifth place finish at the Oregon Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore. on Tuesday, March 27. The Tigers finished their tournament at +17, 881 after firing a +4 on the final day of play. The host Ducks took home the tournament title after shooting 17-under over three rounds while taking home the top three spots on the individual leaderboard, as well.
For Pacific, junior Alex Edfort finished strong at the tournament as the Somerset, N.J. native ended his 54-hole tournament with an even-par, 72 to go three-under for the two days. At -3, Edfort finished fourth overall, three strokes back of the tournament champion, Oregon's Andrew Vijarro, who ended at -6 after shooting a three-under, 69, on the final day.
Behind Edfort, senior Dan Garcia ended his final tournament in Eugene at -1 after going one-under for the day at the Eugene Country Club. Garcia picked up a top-10 finish with his final round performance as the senior ended in a tie for 8th overall as one of just 10 golfers to complete the tournament at under-par.
