PROVO, Utah - The Tiger golf team put together a solid second round of play on day two of the West Coast Conference Championships at the Riverside Country Club. Pacific posted a score of -6 on Friday, which drops them to +3 overall as they head into the final round of the tournament which tees off tomorrow.
James Feutz led the Tigers on day two, posting a -4 (68). Feutz opened up the front nine with four birdies to head into the turn at -3, and then logged three birdies on the final four holes to cap off his stellar round of play. The senior now sits even par and tied for 13th place in the field heading into the final round tomorrow.
Also at even par heading into the final round is Austin Fox, who shot a 70 at -2 on Friday. Fox notched two birdies on the 2nd and 7th but unfortunately bogeyed the 8th and 9th. However the freshman finished strong as he hit birdies on the 13th, 15th and 16th to cap off his strong round.
Yesterday's leader Tyler Burnes opened up play with a birdie, but a double-bogey on the 7th dropped him to +1 on the day. The sophomore currently sits at +2 overall after going back-to-back 73 during the first two rounds.
Geoff Fry posted two birdies on the day and ended his round with a 73 as well to bring his score to a +3 overall. Casey Scott logged a 71 on Friday and notched birdies on the 16th and 17th to give him five total on the afternoon. Scott will head into Saturday with an overall score of +5.
The WCC Championships concludes tomorrow with round three, tee times TBA.
