Men's Golf Wraps Nick Watney Invitational 10th

FRESNO, Calif. - The Pacific golf team slipped to a 10th place finish at the Nick Watney Invitational on Tuesday. Casey Scott posted the best scoring round of the day for the Tigers, with a 75.

Beau Forest, competing as an individual, was the top performer among the six Tigers at the event, as he finished tied for 14th at +6 (219).

Scott's 75 gave him a +12 (225) finish for the tournament, for 43rd. Daniel Pena led Pacific with a +10 (223), but his third round 82 dropped him to 30th after shooting one under through two rounds.

Austin Fox posted a 76 Tuesday to wrap play at 226 (+13) in 47th place. Jee Horsangchai shot a third-round 77 to finish at 227 (+14) in 48th, while Anthony Madrid finished at 240 (+27) with a final round 85.

The Tigers combined score was 901, +49, tied with Cal State Northridge, nine shots back of eighth place. BYU won the Nick Watney Invitational, with a +13 (865).

Pacific will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Paintbrush Invitational in Parker, Colorado at Colorado Golf Club.

Following that event, the Tigers will host the 2017 Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational on October 26-28 at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
