April 20, 2011

Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific Golf program and head coach Brandon Goethals has announced the signing of a pair of incoming golfers to National Letters of Intent for the upcoming 2011-12 season. Joining the Tigers next season will be Eric Sugimoto (San Diego, Calif.) and Kevin Andrews (Truckee, Calif.).

Sugimoto will come to Pacific in the fall after a four-year career at Rancho Bernardo High School where, entering his final season in the Spring, had been named a three-time All-CIF golfer. Under Sugimoto's leadership, Rancho Bernardo took home the Palomar League Championship in 2010 during his junior season of action. In addition to his play on the high school links, Sugimoto finished second in the 15-18 Boy's Division at the 2010 FCG World Championships in which 268 players from 15 states and eight countries participated.

Alongside Sugimoto in the incoming class for next season, Andrews will enter Pacific after a stellar career at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School. A force in the Northern Nevada Golf, Andrews helped lead his team to back-to-back Northern Nevada Regionals in each of the last two seasons. For his play, Andrews was named to the All-Sierra League team after as a junior.

"We are really excited to have these fine young men join our Pacific Golf Family," said Goethals. "They do all the right things and I know that they will fit into our system really well."
