Tigers Take Down Warriors

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific men's soccer team hosted Westmont College Sunday night in the first exhibition game of the season at Knoles Field where the Tigers were victories, 2-1.

In the first half, the Tigers struck first as Anthony Orendain found the back of the net in the third minute of play. Johnatan Rico-Contreres took a hard shot and Orendain was able to score off the rebound from Westmont's keeper.

Tyson Fox added Pacific's second goal after a fast break down the field and a perfect pass from Orendain.

In the second half, the Warriors looked to battle back as Tim Heiduk placed the ball in the top corner of the net off a free kick to cut their deficit, 2-1 but this would be the end of there Warriors scoring chances.

At the end of 90, the Tigers finished with 10 shots over the Warriors 5. Curtis Goldsmith started in goal for Pacific and played the first half, while Ethan Bandre and Mateo Gomez split minutes in the second.

The Tigers will play their second and final exhibition game at Stanford on Saturday, August 19th at 7:00 p.m.
