Top-Ranked Stanford On Deck For Tigers

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific men's soccer team returns to The Farm this Saturday at 7 PM to face #1 Stanford in their final exhibition match before the regular season.

Last week in their first tuneup against Westmont, Pacific took the 2-1 victory behind a pair of early goals. Anthony Orendain got the Tigers on the board in the fourth minute and later assisted on Tyson Fox's score in the 33rd to make it 2-0. Curtis Goldsmith had a perfect first half and Ethan Bandre held the Warriors scoreless to start the second.

The last time the Tigers and Cardinal squared off was in the second round of the NCAA Tournament this past November, with Stanford taking the 2-0 decision and going on to win their second College Cup Championship in just as many years.

Pacific's regular season opener sends the Tigers to Sacramento to face the Hornets on Aug. 25th at 5 PM. The Orange and Black return home to take on CSU Bakersfield on Aug. 27th at 6 PM, and the first 500 fans will receive a free Pacific Soccer scarf.
