Men's Swimming Hosts Quad Meet

What's Happening
The Pacific men's swim team returns home to Kjeldsen Pool this week for a two-day quad meet on Friday, November 4, and Saturday, November 5. Air Force and Seattle U will participate in both days of the meet while Cal State Bakersfield will join on Saturday.

Last Week In Brief
The Tigers fell to reigning conference champion Cal State Bakersfield 153-135 Saturday, October 29, in a road dual meet.

A Quick Look Ahead
Pacific will participate in the three-day Arena Classic in Long Beach, Calif., from Thursday, November 17, to Saturday, November 19. Last season saw 10 men's teams compete in the meet with Pacific-12 member Stanford claiming the title.

National Rankings
Numerous Tigers have their names among the top 100 times nationally. Freshman Brandon Chandler is one of eight Pacific swimmers that rank in the top 50 in the 1650 Free. Chandler's time of 16:01.08 is good for 12th while junior Zach Zlotoff (16:24.60) and freshman Jeff Peters (16:48.27) rank 22nd and 27th, respectively. Freshman Brandon Presswood's 16:57.04 mark is good for 30th while Sean Dunnigan and Sharp rank 37th and 39th with times of 17:29.26 and 17:46.03, respectively. Freshman Chris Pallios ranks 40th with a time of 17:46.22 while senior David Banks ranks 49th with a time of 19:21.79.

In other events, sophomore Oliver Simkovic ranks 39th in the 400 IM (4:07.52) and 57th in the 200 Back (1:51.24). Senior Roger Ward's time of 4:12.22 in the 400 IM is good for 67th while his time of 1:54.23 in the 200 IM is good for 72nd. Chandler also ranks 78th in the 1000 Free (9:40.17) and 79th in the 500 Free (4:38.51). Rounding out the top 100 are Ward in the 100 Breast (58.33, 86th), Jeff Peters in the 400 IM (4:15.43, 87th), and Zlotoff in the 1000 Free (9:42.56, 91st).

Pacific's relay teams also have top national times. The 800 Free Relay team ranks seventh with a time of 7:00.81. The 200 Free Relay team ranks 37th with a time of 1:25.93 while the 400 Free Relay team ranks 46th with a time of 3:07.32. The 200 Medley Relay team's time of 1:34.99 is good for 57th.
