After graduating high school, Jade made her way to Golden West College where she swam and played water polo. While at Golden West, Morton established herself as one of the top swimmers in the Orange Empire Conference as she set a conference and state record in the 1650 Free in 2012 with a time of 17:01.0.
A three-time team MVP at Kealakehe High School in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Morton graduated from High School in 2010. In three seasons, Jade helped grow the Wave Riders finish in the state championships from third place in 2008 to a championship in 2010 as a senior. In addition to her swimming, Morton was a standout water polo player for the Wave Riders earning MVP honors in each of her final three seasons in the pool.
Jade Morton was born in Henderson, Nev., and is the daughter of Rene Richards and Thomas Morton. She has two sisters, Timi Sanchez and Summerly Morton. She is pursuing a degree in communications.
