Wilson had a stellar junior season for the Tigers, earning NCAA qualifying times in both the 100 Fly (47.86) and the 200 Fly (1:47.20) at the 2013 MPSF Championships. Both marks nearly broke the school records in each event. He took sixth in the 100 Fly (50.56) and ninth in the 200 Fly (1:58.39) at the Pacific Invite. The UNLV Winter Invite saw him record two runner-up finishes in the 100 Fly (49.94) and the 200 Fly (1:52.36). Academically, Wilson earned MPSF All-Academic honors.
In his second year at Pacific, Wilson continued to impress in the butterfly events for the Tigers. He won the 100 Fly against conference foe UC Santa Barbara and added two runner-up finishes and a pair of third-place finishes during the regular season. At the 2012 MPSF Championships, Wilson collected two top-20 finishes highlighted by a 12th-place showing in the 200 Fly behind a time of 1:51.60. He added a 17th-place finish in the 100 Fly with a mark of 49.35. His 200 Fly time was tops on the team while his 100 Fly ranked second. Outside of the pool, Wilson earned MPSF All-Academic Team honors.
Wilson had an impressive showing against Stanford on Jan. 8, winning the 100 Fly (53.02) and taking fifth in the 200 Fly (2:00.40). At the Tri Meet on Jan. 22, Wilson earned a pair of third-place finishes, clocking in at 52.71 in the 100 Fly and 1:58.36 in the 200 Fly.
Wilson graduated from Glenwood High School in Durban, South Africa.
Wilson is currently Malawi’s record holder in the 100 Free, the 200 Free, the 50 Back, the 100 Back, the 200 Back, the 50 Fly, the 100 Fly, the 200 Fly, and the 200 IM.
Wilson was born in Zomba, Malawi, and is the son of John and Fumiyo Wilson. He has an older sister, Helen. Wilson is majoring in geology and enjoys fishing in his free time.
