Irvine, Calif. - After going 3-1 last week at the tri-meet with UC Davis and Cal Poly, the Pacific Tigers swept Big West Swimming & Diving athlete of the week honors with Wojciech Betlej (Mielec, Poland) earning his second award of the season and Ja-Neil Bragg (Manteca, Calif.)grabbing her third.
Betlej finished first in the 100 Back and 200 Back with times of 50.28 and 1:48.44. This season Wojciech has recorded the Big West's fastest time in the 200 Back and the conferences second fastest time in the 100 Back.
Betlej's teammate Bragg nabbed her third honor of the season after winning three events in the Tigers' home meet. She swam times of 24.14 in the 50 Free, 10:06.55 in the 1000 Free, and 2:02.63 in the 200 IM.
The Pacific women went on to sweep Cal Poly and UC Davis, while the men's squad defeated Cal Poly and lost a tight race with UC Davis. The Tigers will now take two weeks off before they travel to UC Santa Barbara for their final dual meet of the year on February 3. The meet will start at 11:00 a.m.
