INDIAN WELLS, Calif. - The Tiger duo of Akram El Sallaly and Bernardo Oliveira continued to develop as they showed off their skills at the ITA Fall Championships in Indian Wells, Calif.

El Sallaly and Oliveira faced off against Skander Mansouri and Petros Chrysochos from Wake Forest. The Tigers fought hard in the match, but fell in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. In the first set, the Tiger tandem were even with the Demon Deacons after four sets completing an impressive second serve percentage of 92, but Pacific couldn't hold on and dropped the first set.

In the second set the combo held on to a steady second serve percentage, while also saving 50% of break points, but the Wake Forest pair took control of the match and finished the set, 6-2.

"It was a tough match today and we had a lot of opportunities in the first set.  We had maybe six break points and Skander came up with some aces on a couple of them," said head coach Ryan Redondo.  "We started the second up a break and thought we were going to turn the tide but Akram and Bernardo weren't able to continue to play the doubles they needed to. They will now play in the consolation draw and they will need to go after it.  At this level you have to be the one going for it and that is what we look for out of them tomorrow."

El Sallaly and Oliveira will play Thursday at 4 p.m. and do battle with Victor Pham and Jackie Tang of Columbia.

Live scoring will be available for the match and can be found on PacificTigers.com.
