The Tigers dominated the court today against the UC Riverside Highlanders to earn a final match score of 7-0. This conference match imrpoved the Tigers season record to 10-9 and a conference record of 2-1.
The match against the Highlanders featured all the Tigers' strengths as a team. The Tigers got off to a solid start having won the doubles point when they won two of the three matches. The momentum Pacific exhibited in the doubles events continued straight into singles.
Singles proved to be the Tiger's specialty against Riverside having dominated all the matches individually. Some memorable wins included that of Ivan Castro who confidently defeated Ryan Stanbury with a cool two set score of 6-1, 6-1. Fernando Ristow also defeated his opponent with a final score of 6-1, 6-1. Artem Gramma filling in at the No. 1 spot defeated Quoc Doan with a final score of 6-3, 6-2. Tomasz Krzyszkowski had a tough match that required discipline and focus. However, Krzyszkowski was able to hold it together and produce the win with a final score of 7-5, 7-6. With discipline and focus, the Tigers were able to earn the win with a final score of 7-0.
The Tigers now prepare to face UC Irvine in Irvine, California for their next conference match.
