High School:
Carmody attended Carl Sandburg High School in Orlando Park, Ill. As a senior, he led his team to the Illinois State Championship. In a game leading up to the championship game Carmody led his team to a victory over the defending state champs with eight blocks.

Personal: 
Tommy is the son of Joe and Tammy Car Carmody. He has two siblings: Erin and Allison. While at Pacific, Tommy is studying Engineering, and plans to pursue a career in that field.
