Stockton, Calif. – Pacific Men's Volleyball returns to action this weekend with a pair of Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) contests against BYU on March 9 and 10. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. PST.
No. 11 Pacific (6-12, 4-9 MPSF) heads to the road after a four game home stand that ended with a match-sweep over UC San Diego on March 3. The Tigers were 1-3 in the Alex. G Spanos Center with 3-1 losses to No. 4 USC, No. 10 Pepperdine and No. 2 UC Irvine.
Leading the Tigers is senior Florian Gornik and junior Taylor Hughes. Gornik has 212 kills to hit .317 on the season, while Hughes has collected 212 kills to hit .274. Gornik has also collected 92 digs for the Orange and Black.
Sophomore libero Javier Caceres is also producing a fantastic season with 2.45 digs per set to total 159 on the year. Tunnell has added 651 assists for the Tigers to average 10.17 per set.
Leading the No. 5 Cougars (13-4, 9-3 MPSF) is senior Robb Stowell with 224 kills. Taylor Sanders, Josue Rivera and Russ Lavaja have totaled 176, 171 and 111 kills this season, respectively.
Pacific has the next week off, but returns to the Alex G. Spanos Center for a non-conference match with UC Santa Cruz on March 23.
