Men's Volleyball Adds A Pair To Recruiting Class

Stockton, Calif. – Pacific Men's Volleyball has added another pair of student-athletes to this year's recruiting class with the addition of Edgardo Cartagena and Giovanni Llinas-Rosa.

Cartagena and Llinas-Rosa are both outside hitters from Gurabo, Puerto Rico. The 6'5" Cartangena and 6'6" Llinas-Rosa played together for the San Juan Volleyball Club in Puerto Rico. In 2011 they led their team to a 15th place finish at the Boys' Youth World Championships. Also, Cartagena was named to the 16-Open All-Tournament team at the 2011 USA Volleyball Boys' Junior National Championships.

Head coach Joe Wortmann is thrilled to welcome the two new student-athletes saying, "They fit into our vision of a great volleyball program; Edgardo and Giovanni are excellent volleyball players and strong students. I expect them to have a positive impact on Pacific volleyball."

The pair will join Martin Ross and Christian Franceschi at Pacific next season as part of the 2012 recruiting class.
