Irvine, Calif. – Adam Troy led Pacific with 13 kills, while hitting .391, but it was not enough in a three set loss to No. 4 UC Irvine on Saturday, April 6. The set scores were 25-20, 25-16, 25-18.
The loss drops Pacific to 8-18 and 5-17 in MPSF play, while the victory improves UC Irvine to 21-6 and 18-6 in conference play.
The Tigers had their most competitive set of the evening in the opening game, but fell 25-20. Troy led the Tigers as he did all night with four kills on five swings in the game.
Troy had five kills on 12 swings in the Tigers 25-16 set two loss. Also adding multiple kills in the game was Taylor Hughes with three of his four total kills coming in the set. Senior setter Patrick Tunnell added eight assists and three digs for Pacific.
Troy added another four kills in the final set, but Pacific fell 25-18. Freshman setter Marco Grasso tallied seven assists and three digs in the set.
Kevin Tillie and Kyle Russell led the way for the Anteaters with 16 and 10 kills, respectively.
Up next the Tigers wrap up their season with home contests with BYU and Cal Baptist next weekend.
