Berkeley, Calif. - Four unanswered goals gave No. 2 Southern Cal a win over the No. 4 Pacific men's water polo team in the Mountain Pacific Invitational third place game Sunday.

Aleksandar Petrovic scored twice, while Andrea De Nardi added a goal. Alen Osmanovic recorded 11 saves in goal for the Tigers.

The Tigers finished fourth in the annual NorCal tournament, as Pacific falls to 11-2 on the year, with the losses to the teams ranked 1-2 in this week's CWPA Top 20 poll.

USC struck first as James Walters capped a power play with a goal for a 1-0 lead, 4:23 into the first quarter. Blake Edwards added a goal for the Trojans, and Matt Maier added another as USC led 3-0 after one.

In the second, Petrovic ripped home the Tigers first goal, with Thumwood picking up the assist to pull within 3-1. But Thomas Dunstan picked up a goal for USC to restore a three-goal margin.

On Pacific's next possession, De Nardi capped a power play with a goal off a Kale Ai assist as the Tigers trailed 4-2 after the first half.

In the third, Petrovic struck again, on Pacific's first possession of the period, pulling the Tigers within one. Grant Stein provided USC some breathing room with a goal at the 3:05 mark for a 5-3 lead.

Matteo Morelli picked up a steal and transition goal to thwart Pacific's first possession of the fourth quarter, as USC stretched the lead to 6-3.

Lachlan Edwards and Grant Stein tacked on late for the Trojans.

McQuin Baron (who was a teammate with Pacific's Alex Obert on the US Olympic team in Rio), recorded nine saves in goal for USC. The Trojans improve to 9-1 on the season.

The Tigers and Trojans will meet again on Saturday in Los Angeles in a 1 p.m. game at USC.
