#5 Men's Water Polo Downs #15 Brown, 24-8

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The No. 5 Pacific men's water polo team improved to 3-0 with a 22-8 win over No. 15 Brown at the Brown Bruno Classic Sunday morning. Engin Ege Colak set a new career high with six goals.

Derek Clappis handed out give assists to go with his two goals, while Eli Lule and Wyatt Barker posted career-highs with their first hat tricks. Andrea De Nardi and Ben Stevenson also scored two goals, while Luke Pavilliard, Luis Araya, Kale Ai, Lucas Hastie, Devon Thumwood and Andres Schmidt each also scored.

John Hedges made nine saves with two steals in the first three quarters, while Ethan Hansen played the final eight minutes in the cage.

The Tigers opened with the first four goals, the first by Ai followed by two from Colak. Schmidt tallied for a 4-0 lead and Pacific closed the first quarter up 7-1.

The lead grew to 12-3 before the half, as Pavillard and Colak tallied before a pair from Lule, and Hastie's goal. Brown's Tommy Bush scored just before halftime for the Bears' third goal.

In the third, Pacific blanked the Bears with a 6-0 period, stretching the margin to 18-3 behind two goals from Clappis.

Tyler Kirchberg posted three goals for Brown in the fourth, but Clappis set up two goals from Barker and Barker also posted a hat trick of his own in the fourth as the Tigers cruised home, 24-8.

Pacific finished 5-for-10 with the 6-on-5 advantage.

The Tigers scored 20 or more for the third straight game, marking the first time Pacific has hit 20 in three consecutive games since the 2013 season.

Pacific is back in action at 11:30 a.m. PT against No. 19 St. Francis Brooklyn to wrap the Brown Bruno Classic.
