Stockton, Calif. – For the second time this season Ashlee Schlesier was named NorPac West Division Defensive Player of the Week. The junior from San Diego, Calif. was selected after a 13 save performance in the thrilling penalty strokes win over Robert Morris Sunday, October 2.
Schlesier played all 100 minutes against the Colonials before suiting up for penalty strokes. Again, the keeper was a wall turning away four of the six shots, including blocking back-to-back strokes that would have potentially handed Robert Morris the victory. Schlesier now has 72 saves on the season and ranks sixth in the nation with nine saves per game.
Schlesier and the Tigers will look to build on their exciting win over the Colonials as they travel to Virginia for road contests against Longwood, Richmond, and Virginia Commonwealth Oct. 6, 8, and 9, respectively.
