Stockton, Calif. – The Pacific field hockey team has finalized its 2012 schedule, which will feature eight contests against teams that finished in the NFHCA Top 20 rankings last season. The Tigers, who ended the 2011 season in thrilling fashion with a victory over Radford at the NorPac Tournament will look to build on that success.
The Orange and Black will open the regular season with three games at home against Saint Louis, La Salle and Bryant. The home opener is slated for August 24 against the Billikens of Saint Louis. After the homestand, the schedule will feature a pair of non-conference contests against last season's No. 20 Northwestern and No. 11 Iowa, both games will take place on neutral sites in the Bay Area.
Also, the schedule includes the Tigers taking two trips East for contests with Siena, 2011's No. 10 New Hampshire and Maine on the campus of the University of New Hampshire. Followed by a trip to the state of Michigan for contests against last season's No. 7 Michigan, Central Michigan and Michigan State.
The Tigers will also play its traditional NorPac Conference schedule with six contests against last year's No. 9 Stanford, No. 16 California and UC Davis. Pacific will conclude its season at the NorPac Tournament at Longwood towards the end of October.
In the Tigers spring training season the squad will take on California, Stanford's club team and finish with a pair of contests with UC Davis.
