Stockton, Calif. – Six Pacific Field Hockey student-athletes were recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) for their outstanding work in the classroom on March 19. Placed on the 2011 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad were Dinah Compton, Stephanie Douglass, Lauren Jeanot, Malia Robertson, Doreen Stern and Emily Trudeau.
This is the seventh season in a row the Tigers field hockey squad had at least five student-athletes recognized as Academic All-Americans, and the 16th straight year with at least one player receiving the honor.
In order to make the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad a student-athlete must excel in the classroom by achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
On the field, the Tigers just completed their first scrimmage of the spring season with a successful outing against California on March 17. Fans can catch some of the Academic All-Americans on the field next in a scrimmage against a Bay Area club team on March 31 at 11:00 a.m. in Stanford, Calif.
