Davis, Calif. – Pacific Field Hockey finished its regular season with a NorPac Conference contest against UC Davis on Sunday, October 28 in Davis, California. Pacific answered an early score, but fell to the Aggies 4-1 in the regular season finale.
The victory improved UC Davis to 7-11 (3-3 NorPac), while the loss dropped Pacific to 5-12 (1-5 NorPac).
UC Davis got the scoring started at the 24:12 mark when Casey Wollbrinck knocked in a goal off a corner. However, just over two minutes later the Tigers responded with a goal of their own off a corner. Three seniors combined to find the cage after it was passed to the top of the circle, Doreen Stern stopped the ball and pushed it off to Emily Trudeau. Trudeau ripped a bullet to the left side of the cage, which was deflected past the keeper by Dinah Compton for her second score of the season. It was Trudeau's fourth assist of the year.
Then, with the score tied at one, the Aggies would regain the lead when Cloey LemMon knocked in the goal to take a 2-1 lead. UC Davis would tack on another before the end of the half to make it 3-1 while playing with the advantage after a Pacific yellow card.
It was a quiet start to the second half until the Aggies knocked in a score with 7:52 remaining in the game to extend its lead to 4-1. The goal was Nadia Namdari's second score of the contest.
For the game Pacific's senior keeper Ashlee Schlesier tallied five saves.
With the end of the regular season, Pacific will play in the NorPac Tournament on November 1 at 1:30 p.m. EST as the four-seed against the top seed from the East Division Liberty. The games will be hosted at Longwood University.
