STOCKTON, Calif. - Head coach Keith Coleman announced to more additions to his soccer roster for 2011-12 as Hawai'i natives Kapualani Entendencia and Liz Higashino will join the Tigers as freshmen in the fall.
A 5-6 center back from Wailuku, Hawai'i, Liz Higashino was the team captain for Kamehameha High School, helping the club to back-to-back MIL Championships. She was named MIL First Team in 2010 and 2011, and also earned Second Team All-State Team honors in those years as well.
She also has club experience on the Hawai'i '93 State Team, the Maui United '94 Soccer Club, winning state championships in 2008 and 2011, as well as the Honolulu Bulls '94 club, winning the 2010 Pats Cup Championship and the Las Vegas College Showcase Pool in 2011.
"Liz is a natural leader who communicates well in the defensive end, whether that be as a defender or defensive midfielder role. She's a tough competitor who is very good in the air," Coleman said.
Kapualani Entendencia also joins Pacific from Kamehameha High School in Honolulu, Hawai'i, where she helped the Warriors to a 35-7-5 record through her first three seasons, including a state championship as a freshman and a return trip to the state finals as a sophomore. A two-time second-team all Interscholastic League of Hawai'i, Entendencia has been a three-year starter at fullback and stopper for coach Melissa Moore.
"Kapualani is a physical defender who plays for one of the top high schools in Hawai'i," Coleman continued. "She's a great fit for our team and a player who can excel in our conference."
The duo joins freshmen D Maha Abdallah, MF Nicola Berry, D/MF Malaya Cabrera, GK Jacqueline Kane, F/MF Megan Mata and MF/D Nicole Penick as the Tigers' incoming class this fall. Pacific opens the season August 19 at home against Nevada.
