Aggies Edge Women's Soccer In Overtime, 3-2

Davis, Calif. -  The Pacific women's soccer team was knocked off in overtime, 3-2, at UC Davis Thursday afternoon at Aggies Soccer Field on a goal three minutes into the extra frame.

Senior midfielder Alex Topp and senior forward Kristina Wavomba posted first-half goals, but the Aggies' Kiele Argento broke a 2-2 tie 3:06 into extra time to snap Pacific's four-game win streak over the Aggies.
The Aggies improve to 8-4-1, 2-1-1 in the Big West. The Tigers fall to 7-6-1 overall , 1-2-1 in the Big West.
In the 17th minute, Pernille Schulze-Larsen played the ball up the left side for junior midfielder Laura Hernandez, who slotted it into the middle for Topp, who one-touched it past the keeper into the lower right side for a 1-0 Tigers lead.  Topp scored for the third-straight time in a match against UC Davis, her sixth goal of the season.
Davis answered back 10 minutes later, as Allison Kelly headed home a corner kick from Mary Beth Mazurek for her sixth goal of the season.
Off a corner in the 33rd minute, Davis struck again, as Rogan Dolan turned and fired a shot in from Kirstin Holmberg to put the Aggies up 2-1.
Wavomba tied it up with five minutes left in the half, as Lauren Olvera heaved a throw in into the box, and Wavomba collected the loose ball and blasted it into the lower right for her eighth goal of the year.

Davis held a 7-6 edge in shots at half time, with each team putting four shots on goal. 

The two teams played a scoreless second half, with the Tigers holding a 5-4 lead in shots. Through 90 minutes, the two teams each attempted 11 shots, five on goal.

Three minutes into overtime, Kiele Argente won a loose ball on the endline and placed a low-angle shot off the underside of the cross bar, off the inside post and into the back of the net to give the Aggies the win.
Topp and Wavomba each tallied their third career goal against the Aggies, with Topp stretching her streak to three-straight games against Davis with a goal.
Pacific is back in action on Friday, Oct. 21, against UC Santa Barbara at home in a 7 p.m. kickoff.
