Stockton, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer team dropped its Big West Conference opener at Cal Poly 4-1 on Friday, September 28. The Tigers fell to 3-7 on the year and 0-1 in league play, while the Mustangs improved to 4-5-1 and 1-0.
"We had a humbling experience tonight, but we need to regroup quickly for UCSB on Sunday," said Pacific head coach Keith Coleman.
The Tigers fell behind 20 minutes into the match when Elise Krieghoff scored on a shot from the left side of the goal. It became 2-0 when Cal Poly's Sara Epps scored at the 29:17 mark from eight yards out. Tiger senior Kortney Agdeppa scored her first goal of the season from 10 yards away at 34:03, on an assist from junior Maricela Padilla.
Just 10 minutes into the second half, the Mustangs took control, scoring two more goals in just under two minutes. Sara Lancaster scored at 54:48 and Krieghoff added her second goal at 56:15 to round out the scoring.
