With the Tigers home opener fast approaching, the Pacific softball team has published a list of special dates to circle on the calendar for 2012. Throughout the season, the Tigers will host four special events at Bill Simoni Field to honor those who have both played for and those who have supported Pacific softball.

Scorboard Dedication at Pacific's home opener
The Tigers will officially dedicate the scoreboard at Bill Simoni Field to the family of Don and Thelma Stewart. The Stewart family's generous donation to Pacific softball enabled the Tigers to improve Bill Simoni Field with a brand new scoreboard for the 2012 season.
Saturday, March 3 - 12:00 pm
Honoring two of Pacific's all-time greats, the Tigers will be retiring the jerseys of #2 Gina Carbonatto (2004-07) and #9 Cindy Ball (1999-02). The ceremony for the two players will take place prior to the Tigers matchup with Washington at the Louisville Slugger Invitational.

Prior to the Tigers' game against Princton, Pacific will officially dedicate the Pressbox at Bill Simoni Field to Libby Matson. Libby was a pinoeer for women's athletics and a staunch supporter of Pacific athletics. The dedication of the pressbox will take place at the tournament named in her honor.

For the first time in Pacific softball history the Tigers will be wearing pink as Pacific plays in support of breast health awarness. An initiative around the country throughout women's athletics, the Tigers will Play Pink against Cal State Northridge on Sunday of their Big West opening series.
