Tigers Drop Series Finale To UC Davis On Senior Day
The Pacific softball team dropped the series finale against UC Davis on Saturday, May 5, falling by a count of 3-0. With the loss, the Tigers dropped to 33-18 overall, 12-6 in Big West Conference games. UCD improved to 22-27 and 12-6 in league play.
Before Pacific's final home game, Tiger seniors Nicole Matson and Alexa Rivera were honored.
UC Davis added another run in the top of third, as Harman delivered a double down the left field line to plate Ginnis again, as the Aggies took a 2-0 lead.
With two on in the top of the fifth inning, Kelly Schulze singled to center. Harman was held at third on the play, but the throw from center fielder Megan Hom hit the pitcher's rubber and skipped away to allow Harman to score.
The Tigers again had runners at second and third in the bottom of the fifth inning, but Matson struck out to end the threat. Pacific left nine runners on base in the contest.
Bonnet scattered seven hits, allowing two earned runs and compiling five strikeouts. Justine Vela picked up the win for UC Davis, striking out 10 and allowing four hits. It was the eighth shutout of the year for Vela.
Hom, Rivera and Rodriguez each had singles for the Tigers, while Nikki Armagost had a double, the lone extra base hit for Pacific.
