Taking their show on the road for the second straight weekend, the Pacific softball team heads to Waco, Texas and Baylor University to take part in the Miken Classic from Fri., Feb. 15 - Sun. Feb. 17. The Tigers will play in their first tournament of the season alongside of Northern Colorado, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, and the host Bears of Baylor. Each team will face one another throughout the first two days of play before taking part in bracket play.

For Pacific, the Tigers enter the tournament holding a perfect 3-0 record as they defeated Sacramento State, 3-0, on Tuesday to keep their perfect start to 2013 intact. Pacific rallied in the 7th inning against the Hornets, knocking out four hits and three runs to come away with the win. The Tigers were led by their youngsters as freshman Nicole Zapotoczny's one-out double put runners in scoring position while freshman Melanie Habib drove her classmates in to plate the winning runs of the contest.

While in Waco the Tigers will face off first against Texas A&M-CC before taking on the host Bears in the nightcap of the first day. Pacific's opening game against the Islanders will mark the second meeting between the two sides all-time as the Tigers won the first meeting, 6-4, on Feb. 19, 2011. Against the Bears, Pacific will face a squad sitting just outside of the nation's top-25 as Baylor enters the weekend 5-2 on the year having won their last four contests. The Tigers are 2-1 all-time against the Bears having won the last two meetings with their last encounter being coming on Feb. 24, 2006 in a game Pacific won 4-1. Finishing out their round-robin play on Saturday, Pacific will take on Northern Colorado who enter the weekend 2-3 in 2013. The game will mark the first between the two squads.
