2011
(Sophomore):
Continuing were she left off from her first season, Armagost put
together an epic sophomore season that culminated with her
selection as the Big West's Player of the Year as well as a
two-position All-Big West First Team honoree and a Second Team
All-Region award winner. For the year, Armagost proved to be one of
the most versatile players in the Big West as she was a threat at
the plate, in the circle and with her glove at first base. Overall,
Nikki posted a .367 average, tied for 10th best in Pacific
single-season history, while driving in 45 runs and scoring 35
runs. Armagost finished the season with 65 hits, tied for ninth in
program history. Her 45 RBI ranked tied for the fifth most in
single-season history, and second only to teammate Nicole Matson
for the season. In addition, Armagost posted three home runs on the
year, two of which came in grand fashion, while she also recorded
two five-RBI games, making her just the second player in program
history to record such a feat in a single season.
In addition to her stellar showing at the plate, Armagost was just
as good in the circle as the sophomore posted a 19-11 overall
record with a 2.66 ERA. Her 19 victories placed the ace in the
top-10 in single-season history as she moved into a tie with three
others for 10th all-time. Even more impressively, Armagost was
nearly unbeatable in Big West play as she posted a 10-1 record
against conference foes while posting a 1.79 ERA. She picked up
three of her four shutouts on the year in Big West play while
throwing eight complete games. For her efforts, Armagost took home
two pitcher of the week awards on April 11 and May 9. Armagost
earned second team pitching honors and first team utility honors in
2010.
2010
(Freshman):
Making the transition from high school to college, Nikki wasted
little time establishing herself as one of the elite players in the
Big West in just her first season. Living up to the lofty
expectations coming into Pacific out of high school, the freshman
ace for the Tigers finished her first collegiate season with a
13-12 overall record, with her 13 wins ranking fourth among
conference pitchers. Above her overall record, Armagost's numbers
in the circle were stunning for a freshman as she led the
conference in ERA (2.12) and in opposing batting average (.210).
Even more impressively, Armagost proved to be the Tigers' work
horse as she finished the year with a conference-best 19 complete
games, including 10 in conference play, and five shutouts while
throwing 172.0 innings. Additionally, Armagost was near the top in
strikeouts as she finished the year with 123 while leading the
conference with 41 looking. For the year, Armagost picked up one
conference pitcher of the week award as she earned the distinction
on Mar. 1 after picking up a complete game, 4-2, victory over then
No. 22 Northwestern. On top of her stellar year in the circle,
Armagost proved to be just as adept at the plate as she finished
her freshman campaign hitting .284 with three home runs, a
team-best 12 doubles and 29 RBI. Her 29 RBI ranked fifth in the
conference overall and second among all freshmen as she trailed
only fellow All-Big West honoree, Megan Allen, who finished the
year with 30 RBI. Armagost's 12 doubles placed her name in the
Tigers' single-season record books as her 2010 campaign ranks tied
for No. 10 all-time. In the field, Armagost committed just one
error in 201 chances despite playing three different positions for
the Tigers. Her lone error came while pitching in conference play
as she was flawless playing mainly at first base for the Tigers
when not pitching. After the season, Armagost was named the team's
most valuable player as voted on by her peers. For her efforts,
Armagost was named the Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Year while
also earning First Team All-Big West honors as a pitcher and second
team honors as a utility player.
High School:
One of the most distinguished high school players to come to
Pacific out of the state of Kansas, Nikki was a 2009 graduate of
Andover Central High School in Andover, Kan. A star pitcher and
infielder for Andover, Armagost closed out her high school career
by being named the 2009 Kansas State Softball Gatorade Player of
the Year as a senior after leading the Eagles to their first ever
5A state championship. As a senior, Armagost posted a 14-0 record
with a 0.07 ERA and struck out 168 batters, walking six, in 98.2
innings. Additionally, she posted 11 shutouts and threw a perfect
game on April 7, 2009. At the plate, Armagost also hit .447 with 19
RBIs, had a .494 on-base percentage and a .697 slugging percentage.

honors, Armagost earned All-Metro honors and her fourth First Team
All-Greater Wichita Athletic League selection for the fourth
consecutive season. As a junior, Armagost led the Jaguars to 21-6
overall record in 2008 and a third place finish at the Kansas State
softball tournament. During the year, Armagost proved to be one of
the most durable players in the country as she once threw 23
innings in a single night including a 21-inning marathon contest
against Clearwater High School during which she recorded an amazing
33 strikeouts. As both a sophomore and a junior, Armagost earned
first team all-state honors in the circle for the Jaguars and was
named the league's co-Most Valuable Player as a junior after
posting a minuscule 0.52 ERA with 10 wins. At the plate, Armagost
was even better, notching a .495 batting average with eight
doubles, six triples and six homeruns. With 47 hits, Armagost drove
