Beach Volleyball Falls To Saint Mary's

MORAGA, Calif. - The Pacific beach volleyball team fell at Saint Mary's Monday afternoon, 4-1. Janie Feldsher & Taylor Poncetta picked up the victory for the Tigers, their second-straight as a tandem.

Feldsher & Poncetta, who were paired together for the first time on Saturday against Utah, improved to 2-0 this season with a win at No. 3 over Lindsey Calvin & Mary Hernandez. The Tigers dropped the first set before rallying back for the 14-21, 23-21, 15-7 win.

St. Mary's edged Pacific at No. 4, as Alexsa Parker & Alexis Salmons won in three over Emily Baptista & Alex Holt, 18-21, 21-12, 15-10. While Lindsey Knudsen & Payton Rund topped Lexi Elman & Andie Shelton at No. 1, 21-10, 21-14.
No. 2. Emily Bible & Sarah Chase edged Katrin Gotterba & Maycie LaBass, 21-18, 21-17, while Madi Wilkerson & Sienna Young pulled out the fifth set against Ashlyn Fleming & Skylar Wine at No. 5, 21-11, 13-21, 18-16.

In the extra match, Olivia Petnicki & Fleming opened with a set one win, but Dominique Dodd & Alex O'Sullivan answered back for a 16-21, 21-9, 15-10 win.

Pacific falls to 3-6 on the year, while Saint Mary's improves to 5-2.

The Tigers will be back in action next Monday, at home against Grand Canyon, at 2:30 p.m.
