STOCKTON, Calif. - The Tigers dropped the final game of their homestand on Monday as they fell 7-0 to Western Kentucky. The loss snaps the Tigers' two-match winning streak and brings them to 4-4 on the year. The win propels the Hilltoppers to 9-3 this season.

"Once again we let the doubles point slip away losing 2/3 in tiebreakers," said head coach Tina Samara. "The theme remained the same in singles where we put ourselves in opportunities to win on almost every court, but in those moments we were not willing to "play to win". No doubt the long matches the last few days caught up to us. Hopefully this loss will help when we are in this situation next time."

In doubles, Yuki Asami/Anna Ramos Vinolas cruised to a 6-0 victory at the three spot. However the one spot of Maayan Sela/Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz and two pair of Anneroos Nederstigt/Sabrina Rodriguez couldn't edge the Hilltoppers to grab the doubles point as both duos fell 7-6 in tiebreakers.

In singles, Sela battled back down 4-1 to win the next five games and take the first set 6-4. However the sophomore would go the distance and drop the next two sets 6-4, 7-5. Nederstigt (6-2, 6-2), Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz (7-5, 6-3) and Asami (6-2, 6-3) all dropped their respective singles matches in straight sets. At the four spot, Ramos Vinolas fell 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (5) and Rodriguez dropped her contest at the five spot 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

The Tigers hit the road for two contests this weekend as they take on UC Irvine on Friday at 1:30 PM and Cal State Fullerton on Saturday at 11 AM. Pacific opens up conference play against LMU on March 24th at 2 PM.
