Women’s Tennis Caps Off Saint Mary’s Invitational

MORAGA, Calif. - The Pacific women's tennis concluded their weekend at the Saint Mary's Invitational Sunday afternoon as they continue their fall season. Maayan Sela, Anneroos Nederstigt and Anna Ramos Vinolas all picked up wins for the Tigers.

In doubles, the pair of Yuki Asami and Ramos Vinolas ended their weekend with a doubles win over UC Davis's Kelsie Bryant and Lani Rae Green, 8-3, while Nederstigt and Sela fell to Miyo Kobayashi and Laura Malsert of San Jose State in a close match, 8-6.

In singles action, Sabrina Rodriguez faced off in the semifinal match of her respective main draw bracket but was taken down by Rylee Braeden in a well-fought three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2.

Nederstigt rolled over Danielle McIntyre of host Saint Mary's in a quick match, 6-3, 6-0, while Sela also picked up a win, 6-2, 6-0 over Sacramento State's Sofia Wicker. Ramos Vinolas added to the victory parade taking down her opponent in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4. Asami dropped her match, 6-4, 6-2 to close out the tournament.

The Tigers will take a rest week then head to Palo Alto for the ITA Northwest Regionals which will run from Wednesday, October 18 through Sunday, October 22. More information on the tournament will become available in the coming week.
