STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific women's tennis team comes off their bye week and take to the road for their first road trip of the 2018 heading to the Sooner State for a pair of matches. The Tigers will take on Oklahoma on Saturday Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. followed by a duel with No. 12 Oklahoma State on Sunday, Feb. 19 also beginning at 10 a.m.
"We are looking forward to the challenge of playing two nationally ranked teams in Oklahoma and Oklahoma State this weekend. Our goal is to reach this level of competition, so getting the chance to test ourselves at this point is an opportunity in many ways," said interim head coach Mike Erwin.
Pacific is 2-1 to start the season after defeating the Academy of Art and Seattle for their pair of wins.
Maayan Sela is pacing the team in singles points with a 3-0 record at No. 2 singles, while Anneroos Nederstigt holds a 2-1 record at No. 4 and Anna Ramos Vinolas has collected two wins at No. 3 singles.
The Sooners are 2-4 to start the year with losses to No. 14 Auburn and No. 25 South Carolina. Oklahoma and Pacific have not met in the last five years as the Tigers make their way to Norman, Okla.
The No. 18 Cowgirls are 6-1 playing all of their games at home and are looking to extend their two-game winning streak after recently defeating Arkansas and Florida. Last season, Oklahoma State went 25-6 with an 8-1 conference record and went undefeated at home.
