STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of the Pacific women's tennis team closes out the regular season on Friday, April 20 and Sunday, April 22 at Brigham Young University and the University of San Diego. First serve on Friday is set for noon and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
The Tigers enter the weekend 6-11 overall and 2-5 in the West Coast Conference.
BYU enters the match at 11-8 overall and 4-3 in WCC action.
Polina Malykh leads the singles play with an 11-3 record overall and holds a 3-2 record in WCC action. Kate Cusick is right behind Malykh with a 10-5 record on the season and is also 3-2 in the conference.
In doubles, Anastasia Abramyan and Mayci Jones rank 60th in the nation with a 6-3 record overall. Teammates, Taylah Beckman and Samantha Smith lead the doubles teams with a 10-3 record overall and have gone 7-3 in the last 10 matches played. Beckman and Smith hold a 4-3 record through conference play.
USD enters the contest at 10-8 on the season and 2-4 in WCC play.
Carolin Nonnenmacher leads the singles competition with a 17-6 record overall and 10-3 in dual play with a 3-1 record in conference. Nonnemacher is on a six-match win streak and has finished 8-1 in the last 10 matches. Maria-Paula Torres is 15-10 overall and 10-4 in dual action with a 3-1 record in conference. In last 10 matches, Torres has gone 5-2.
In doubles, Gemma Garcia and partner Nonnemacher hold a 13-6 record and are 2-0 in conference. The duo has gone 5-5 in the last 10 matches played together. Nicole Anderson and Daniela Morales own a 9-6 record on the season and are 3-3 in conference action. In the last 10 matches, the duo has gone 7-3.
