Stockton, Calif. – Members of the Pacific cross country and track team volunteered at a local elementary school to help students run in a 5K for charity. Students from Kohl Elementary ran down the levee in Stockton for three miles to compete for prizes and raise money for the Stockton Food Bank. Students from Walton Special Needs School also participated in the "Walk n' Roll" with their teachers.
Sophomore Micaela Todd said of the experience, "It was fun to get to know these kids that have so much happiness and positivity. We are hoping to come back and volunteer with these students again."
The event allowed for the students to interact with members of the Pacific cross country and track teams. The day ended with the Tigers and the elementary students socializing at a BBQ.
Pacific Cross Country and Track Head Coach Josh Jones was excited about the day adding, "Day in the Dirt is such a great and fun day for our program. The ladies had a wonderful time and we are glad to be a part of it."
