Track And Field Finishes Season At The West Coast Last Chance Open

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - In the last track meet of the season, the Pacific Track and Field team saw strong showings from freshmen Jasmine Gonzales and Emma Winkler as they set records and recorded new personal bests at the West Coast Last Chance Open held at Cox Stadium in San Francisco.

Both Gonzales and Winkler participated in the 5000m race and posted new records and personal bests during Saturday's meet.

Gonzales set a new freshman record for the 5000m race finishing in seventh place with a time of 17:54.89, which beats the previous freshman best by almost a full minute that was set last season with a time of 18:50.37.  Her finish today also stands as a new personal record for the 5000m race which she set at the San Francisco Distance Carnival earlier this season coming in at 18:03.64.

Winkler also finishes the 2017 outdoor campaign with a new personal record as she finished Saturday's 5000m race with a time of 18:53.87.  She beats her previous personal record by 44 seconds.

The Pacific running slate will pick back up in September as the Cross Country team begins their 2017 season.
