Earning All-Big West Freshman Team honors in her first year of collegiate volleyball, Sanders was a force for the Tigers at the net starting all 30 games for Pacific in the middle. Closing out her first year at Pacific, Sanders posted 255 kills, third-best on the team, after averaging 2.20 kills per game. Ending the year on an upswing, Sanders prowess in the middle showed with career-efforts at the net as she tallied 37 kills in her final two conference matches including a 22 kill effort against UC Santa Barbara on November 13. Defensively, she finished the year with 77 blocks, second best among Pacific blockers. She finished third on the team in points scored after posting 298 for the year, a 2.57 points per game average.
An early signee for the Tigers, Sanders came to Pacific out of Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, Texas. As a senior, Sanders earned All-District 17 League and league co-MVP honors, all-area honors as well as first team all-state honors for her play at the net. For the year she led the Cougars to a 42-7 overall record and a perfect 10-0 league record en route to winning the District 17 championship, the 5A Region III championship and finishing in the third at the 5A Texas State Championships.
Jennifer Sanders was born in Katy, Texas and is the daughter of Nancy and Ted Sanders. She has three siblings, one brother, James, and two sisters, Katie and Angela. Jennifer is majoring in Geology in her second year at Pacific.
