2013 Begins With A Trip To The Hokie Invitational
This Week In Tiger Volleyball
With the new season upon the Tigers, Pacific heads across the country to take part in the Hokie Invitational at Virginia Tech to begin 2013. Playing four matches in two days, the Tigers will see action against St. Francis (PA), Virginia Tech, Towson, and No. 14 Michigan State. The new year brings new hopes and new expectations for Pacific as the team begins anew as members of the West Coast Conference. The Tigers will look to prove themselves early with their best chance to show that they belong among the WCC elite when they take on the Spartans of Michigan State to end their stay in Blackburg.
Last season the Tigers were red hot in non-conference action as they were nearly unbeatable in tournament play winning 3-of-4 tournaments en route to a 12-1 non-conference record. The Tigers won the Idaho Nike Invitational, the Bankers Classic and the Marquette University Tournament.- At their own Bankers Classic, the Tigers rolled through the competition posting a perfect 9-0 record in sets played to win their third straight Classic title. Pacific's 12-1 record and .923 win percentage in non-conference regular season matches equaled the all-time program record set in 1999.
