SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Pacific women's volleyball team wrapped up weekend play and its final road trip of the 2017 season with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-20) loss to No. 13 San Diego at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on Saturday afternoon.
It was a tough day for the Tigers (12-13, 7-7 WCC) as they were held to a .106 hitting percentage as a team and totaled just 28 kills on the day. Leading the Tigers' efforts was Andie Shelton with a team-best nine kills. Emily Baptista was held to single-digit kills for the first time in nearly a month. Baptista totaled seven kills, while Kaitlyn Lines totaled six kills. Commanding the offense was Hanne De Schrijver as she dished out 17 assists.
Janie Feldsher hit a team-best .429 with four kills and just one error in seven swings.
Defensively, libero Katrin Gotterba led the Tigers with 13 digs, while Shelton tallied six digs.
Pacific was solid at the net, with San Diego only out-blocking the Tigers, 8-5. Feldsher and Shelton led with two block assists apiece, while Lines also had two blocks (one assisted, one solo). Ashlyn Fleming assisted on one block and Alex Holt had one solo block.
Pacific returns home for its final four matches, beginning with its match against Saint Mary's on Saturday, November 11. That day will also serve as the Tigers' Military Appreciation Day which will include free admission for all active and retired military personnel.
