Stockton, Calif. - With their 2011 slate of games finalized, the Pacific women's volleyball team has released its upcoming schedule for the 2011 season.
Headlining their new schedule will be a pair of home tournaments as the Tigers will host both their annual Community Bankers Classic (Sept. 2-3) as well as bringing back the Hilton Stockton Invitational (Sept. 15-17). The Tigers will bring in a trio of teams for the Classic as Army, Duquesne and Mississippi State will join Pacific in Stockton for the 33rd edition of the longest running tournament in the nation. Two weeks later the Tigers are back at the Spanos Center for the Hilton Stockton Invitational where Cal State Bakersfield, Loyola Marymount, San Jose State and UC Riverside will join Pacific.
Outside of their own tournament, Pacific will also head out of state for a pair of invitationals. The Tigers travel to Cedar City, Utah to start the season at the Southern Utah Invitational before heading to Honolulu, Hawaii to the site of its future Big West foe to take part in the Hawai'i Invitational. Hawai'i's tournament is choked full of national contenders as Cincinnati and Rice head to the Aloha State along with the Tigers.
After its full slate of tournament action the Tigers will enter the fray of Big West action as they open the conference season against its rival UC Davis on Sept. 21 at home in the Spanos Center. The Tigers will take on the defending Big West champion Titans of Cal State Fullerton first on the road on Oct. 14 before brining the champs to Stockton on Nov. 12.
The Tigers will close out its regular season with a single non-conference contest against Seattle University on Nov. 25 at the Spanos Center as Pacific looks to add to its post-season credentials.
