Kay was a force from two meters for the Tigers this season, notching 34 goals while drawing a team-best 41 ejections. The senior from Cape Town, South Africa, tallied eight multi-goal games including three four-goal games and a hat trick. She upped her play in league games, scoring nine goals to lead the team with an average of 1.80 goals per game. Kay was also named the team's Offensive Player of the Year at this season's awards banquet.
Returning in stellar form for her sophomore season, Martin led Pacific in virtually every statistical category. She recorded 48 goals, 31 assists, 47 steals, 30 drawn ejections and 15 field blocks. Her 1.66 goals per game average paced the Tigers. The Calgary, Alberta, native finished with 15 multi-goal games, going for five goals versus Santa Clara on Jan. 21 and four against Fresno Pacific on Feb. 18. She earned Big West Player of the Week honors for the week of Mar. 19 after a stellar game against UC Davis in which she recorded three goals, three assists, three steals and three drawn ejections. Martin also received the Most Valuable Player award at this season's banquet.
"Kim and Elise are both very deserving of this recognition," head coach Megan Thomson said. "They were integral parts of the program this year and never gave any less than 100-percent. They exhibit commitment and drive both in the pool and the classroom."
