Hlavata set up Christmas' power-play goal in the second to cut the gap to 6-2 at the half. But in the third, after Hlavata's goal off a Tiedemann assist answered a UCLA tally, the Bruins scored three straight to stretch their lead to 10-4. The Bruins tacked on in the fourth for the final margin.

Hollinrake posted seven saves with four steals against the Bruins, but UCLA keeper Carlee Kapana made 10 saves with three steals in the win.
