Pacific Cross Country Continues Track Season At The Hornet Invitational

Stockton, Calif. – The Pacific cross country team will continue its spring track season on Saturday, March 17 with a meet at Sacramento State. The events for the Hornet Invitational are scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.

The Tigers are coming off one of their finest evenings ever at last weeks Kym Duyst Invite, highlighted by Katie Castro's victory in the 5000m. This week Pacific will only run Cassi Rush in the 5K, with the rest of the squad running in the 1500m. Castro and Micaela Todd will also compete in the 800m.

Head coach Josh Jones is using this weekend to help strengthen his team saying, "This is a great opportunity for us to get some speed work in. Hopefully the weather holds out so we can compete and continue to improve."

Jones continued by saying, "I anticipate Katie [Castro] to record a personal record in both races after what she did last week. Rebecca Tuttle should also have good races after running her personal best at the Kym Duyst Invite." He added, "I will be interested to see how Micaela [Todd] and Cassi [Rush] run after battling illnesses."

Pacific returns to the track in two weeks at the Johnny Mathis Invite on April 6 in Stockton, Calif. on the campus of Delta CC.
