Cross Country Adds Two More For Next Year

Stockton, Calif. – Pacific Cross Country Head Coach Josh Jones has added two more student-athletes to his 2012 recruiting class with the signing of Grace McManus and Lindsay Wourms. The two will provide last season's record-setting squad with depth and additional speed.

McManus will arrive in Stockton after an illustrious career at Granite Hills High School where she was named to the All Desert Sky League team four straight seasons (2008-11). As a senior, she was named captain of her track and cross country teams, and honored as the GHHS Senior Athlete of the Year. Also during McManus' senior season she was the Desert Sky League Champion for the 3200m and a High Desert Senior Athlete Nominee at the Gabrielson Awards.

Jones said about McManus, "She is going to solidify our top five for the upcoming season. She also brings a great work ethic and will be a great addition to the 2012 team."

Wourms comes to the Tigers after a great career at Camas High School. She will be an experienced runner for Pacific after competing at the Washington State Finals the past four seasons, and being named All-League three times. She was her team's captain in 2011 on the Washington State Champions team. In 2011, she also won the third flight at the Sun Fair Invitational and competed at the Nike Pre-Cross Nationals.

Jones said about Wourms, "She brings a solid background to our team. She is a hard worker and we look forward to what she will bring to the squad."

Academically both bring a lot to the table, as McManus was an AP student with a G.P.A just under 4.0, while Wourms won the Scholar Athlete Award in 2008, 2010 and 2012.
